• Manufactured to AFS Specifications: The Mould Hardness Tester is designed to measure the surface hardness of green sand molds with precision.
• Quick and Easy Testing: The hardness test is performed in seconds by simply pressing the tester against the mold surface and noting the reading on the dial.
• Spring-Loaded Ball Contact: Equipped with a 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) radius ball contact, loaded with a spring pressure of 980 gms. The softer the mold surface, the greater the penetration in the mold.
• Measurement Range:
  • A mold offering no resistance to the contact point reads 0.
  • A mold with hardness that prevents penetration reads 100.
• Maximum Reading Stop: Retains the reading for areas tested in blind portions of the mold for easy reference.
